Navigating Player Transfers: How WFS Supports You
Updated: Sep 24
A football transfer is about more than the salary
A new club can be exciting.
More money. A longer contract. A different league
Maybe even a move abroad.
But the biggest number on the page doesn’t automatically make it the right move.
A player also needs to think about things such as
Am I actually going to play?
Does the manager genuinely want me?
Is this the right level for my development?
What happens if the manager changes?
What happens financially if I suffer a serious injury or illness — what contractual protection and insurance cover is in place?

Sometimes the best financial offer is the best move.
Sometimes it isn’t.
Good representation should be about looking at the whole opportunity, not simply getting a signature on a contract.
At Wernick Football Solutions, that’s the approach I want to take.
Understand the player. Understand what they’re trying to achieve. Understand the opportunity in front of them.
Then help them make the best-informed decision possible.
That may involve negotiating contract terms, speaking with clubs, helping with practical issues around a move, or bringing in specialist legal, financial or other professional advice where appropriate.
And throughout all of it, communication matters.
Not every conversation becomes an offer. Not every opportunity turns into a transfer.
But a player should know what’s happening, what’s been said and where they stand.
For me, representation should feel personal.
That’s why WFS is being built deliberately around a relatively small number of clients rather than trying to collect dozens of names on a list.
The aim isn’t simply to find the next move.
It’s to help the player find the right one.
